What materials are compact hydraulic cylinders made of?

Compact hydraulic cylinders are made of a high-strength special aluminium alloy with an anti-wear surface treatment (RP/MP), or of steel (RQ), which ensures durability and reliability even in demanding operating conditions.

Are compact hydraulic cylinders available with custom strokes?

Compact cylinders are kept in stock with fixed strokes of 20, 50, 80 and 100 mm. Custom strokes can be supplied to the customer's requirements thanks to fast production of special parts.

What seal types are used in compact double-acting cylinders?

Various configurations are available depending on the application: high sealing (S, RP/MP only), low friction (L), high temperature (H, Viton) and HFC fluid compatible (G). The RQ series does not use the S seal.

What accessories and configuration options are available for the compact cylinders?

The oil ports can be threaded or O-ring type, in several positions (front, rear and side). The standard rod end has an internal thread, compatible with an external-thread end or a self-aligning rod eye. Further modifications are possible on request.

What is the difference between the RP, MP and RQ series?

RP is a compact double-acting cylinder made of high-strength aluminium alloy for pressures up to 160 bar and light to medium loads. MP is the aluminium variant with an integrated position sensor for end-position detection. RQ is the steel version for pressures up to 250 bar across the whole Ø 25–100 mm range — it withstands shock and cyclic loads and offers a longer service life. Choose RP/MP up to 160 bar and RQ for higher pressures and pressure peaks.

When to choose RP / MP, RQ or CD / DK?

RP, MP and RQ share a compact installation length and bores of Ø 25–100 mm. The steel RQ offers a higher pressure of 250 bar and shock resistance. MP is the version with magnetic position sensors. For larger bores and any stroke, the CD / DK tie-rod cylinders (ISO 6020/2) are the right choice.

Moulds, clamping systems and custom or special-purpose machinery — the RP / MP / RQ compact cylinders are designed for applications with limited installation space and reduced moving masses. The MP series offers position monitoring with magnetic or IO-Link sensors, while the steel RQ series (up to 250 bar) handles more demanding conditions and proximity end-position sensors.
