Why choose ISO 6020/2 cylinders with counterflanges instead of tie-rod cylinders?

The counterflange design with high-tensile bolts replaces the long tie rods, which are loaded in tension and stretch on long strokes. While keeping the same ISO 6020/2 envelope dimensions, the construction is more stable and allows a higher operating pressure of 210 bar instead of the 160 bar of tie-rod CD / DK cylinders.

What are the operating and test pressures of HD / HK cylinders?

HD and HK flange cylinders operate at a nominal pressure of 210 bar and every unit is tested at 315 bar before dispatch in accordance with ISO 10100. The test results are recorded, documenting the strength and operating safety of the cylinder.

Which bore diameters do the HD and HK series offer?

The HD series covers bores of Ø 50, 63, 80 and 100 mm, and the HK series continues with Ø 125, 160 and 200 mm. The TH and TX servo cylinders share the same bores. The series switches automatically in the configurator according to the selected bore.

How do TH / TX servo cylinders differ from standard HD / HK?

TH and TX servo cylinders have the same construction, dimensions and optional equipment as HD and HK, and are additionally fitted with a magnetostrictive linear position sensor. It measures the rod position continuously over the whole stroke, not just at the end points. A removable steel cover protects the external parts of the sensor.

What is the maximum stroke available for HD / HK / TH / TX cylinders?

The maximum stroke is 4000 mm. On long strokes the rod buckling must be verified against the mounting and the thrust force; for shorter strokes that need room for components or sensors, an SJ50 to SJ200 spacer is fitted.

What are the adjustable end-of-stroke cushioning and the air bleed for?

Cushioning with a floating ring ensures precise centring and a quick start, prevents shocks at the end of the stroke and is adjustable by a screw. After loosening its nut, the same screw also serves to bleed air from the cylinder. If the stroke is shorter than the cushioning length, the cylinder is cushioned over its whole travel.

Can HD / HK cylinders be fitted with a CETOP plate or end-position sensors?

Yes. The cylinders can be fitted with a CETOP plate with an ISO 4401 mounting face for direct installation of a control valve, or with proximity sensors built into the cylinder heads to detect the piston in its end position. The sensors are rated IP69k with a PNP output, 24 V DC and an M12 connector.

Which seals are available for HD / HK / TH / TX cylinders?

The choice comprises seals S (high seal NBR + PTFE, max. 0.5 m/s), L (low friction, max. 1 m/s), H (Viton® up to +150 °C and phosphate esters) and G (NBR + PTFE CG for HFC fluids). For TH / TX servo cylinders the catalogue offers only L, H and G; seal S is not available.

Double-acting hydraulic cylinders HD and HK with counterflanges to ISO 6020/2 replace long tie rods with solid flanges — operating pressure 210 bar (tested at 315 bar), bore diameters Ø 50–200 mm and strokes up to 4000 mm. On long strokes they are stiffer and more stable than tie-rod CD / DK cylinders.

The TH / TX servo cylinders add a magnetostrictive position sensor for continuous rod measurement — the same construction and envelope, plus position feedback to the control system over the whole stroke.

HD / HK are ISO 6020/2 flange cylinders up to 210 bar for long strokes and higher loads. The heavy-duty DP series (ISO 6022, 250 bar) serves the most demanding duties and higher pressures. TH / TX servo cylinders add a magnetostrictive position sensor for continuous control over the whole stroke.
