Which Conforti hydraulic cylinders suit automation lines?

For most automation tasks, standard tie-rod CD / DK cylinders to ISO 6020/2 (160 bar) are enough. For confined workstations and robotic cells choose the compact RP / MP series (aluminium, low weight); for shock loads choose the steel RQ series (250 bar). For positioning with feedback, the MD series with sensors is available.

How do I detect piston position in automation?

The MD series has a magnetic piston and SH / SR sensors clamped onto the tie-rods — they slide anywhere along the stroke and report the piston position to the PLC at chosen points (intermediate and end positions). For continuous position measurement over the whole stroke, servo cylinders with a magnetostrictive transducer are available.

Which cylinder should I choose for a confined robotic workstation?

The compact RP / MP and RQ series have a shorter installed length than ISO 6020/2 tie-rod cylinders and lower weight (RP / MP in aluminium). They suit manipulators, clamping and robotic-cell axes where space is tight.

Can the control valve be mounted directly on the cylinder?

Yes. Cylinders can be fitted with a CETOP plate with an ISO 4401 mounting surface (NG6 / NG10) for direct installation of a proportional or directional valve. This shortens the hydraulic line and saves space in the automation cell.

Are the cylinders suitable for a high number of working cycles?

Yes. The bronze rod guide bush reduces friction and wear, and the low-friction seal (L) suits faster and more frequent cycling. Every cylinder is individually tested to ISO 10100.

Will a Conforti cylinder replace an existing Parker or Bosch Rexroth on the line?

For ISO 6020/2 (DIN 24554) series, yes — the uniform installed and mounting dimensions allow direct replacement without modifying the machine. Simply compare the bore, rod, stroke and mounting type.

Which cylinder series for your application?

For automotive lines, automated workstations and machine tools, tie-rod CD / DK cylinders (ISO 6020/2) are most often chosen. For piston-position sensing (intermediate and end positions), the MD series with sensors is used; for limited space the compact RP / MP / RQ series; and for long strokes the flanged HD / HK series.
