Why DP and not the tie-rod CD / DK cylinders?

The bronze guides and the higher operating pressure of 250 bar give a higher force density and a longer service life than tie-rod CD / DK or flange HD / HK cylinders.

How do DP cylinders cope with shocks and pressure peaks?

For shock and impulse loads, DP can be fitted with the heavy-duty PQ piston and adjustable end-of-stroke cushioning with a quick-restart system. This prevents mechanical shocks at the stroke ends when handling heavy loads and forgings.

Are DP cylinders suitable for steelworks, forges or foundries?

Yes. DP excels in the hot, dusty environment of steelworks and forges — the RM metal scraper resists dust and abrasion, and the H seal (Viton FKM) works up to 150 °C. For corrosive environments the RRX stainless rod or Nikrom RRK can be chosen.

For ordinary heavy manipulators the standard is enough; for shocks and forgings add the heavy-duty PQ piston; for steelworks and forges add the RM metal scraper and a corrosion-resistant rod (RRX / RRK).
