For heavy handling — heavy-load manipulators, handling of forgings and tilters — the DP series to ISO 6022 heavy-duty with an operating pressure of 250 bar is used. The double bronze guidance of both piston and rod absorbs the radial forces and misalignment that would damage the seals of tie-rod cylinders.

Why DP and not CD / DK tie-rod cylinders?

Choose DP wherever the cylinder faces shocks, pressure peaks, radial forces or misalignment — typically in heavy manipulators and steelworks. The bronze guidance and higher 250 bar operating pressure give greater force density and longer service life than CD / DK tie-rod cylinders or HD / HK flange-mounted cylinders.

How do DP cylinders handle shocks and pressure peaks?

For shock and impulse loads, DP can be fitted with the heavy-duty PQ piston and adjustable end-of-stroke cushioning with a quick-restart system. This prevents mechanical shocks at the stroke ends when handling heavy loads and forgings.

Are DP cylinders suitable for steelworks, forges or foundries?

Yes. DP excels in the hot, dusty environments of steelworks and forges — the metal RM wiper resists dust and abrasion, and the H seal (Viton FKM) works up to 150 °C. For corrosive environments you can choose a stainless rod RRX or Nichrome RRK.

The DP series stays the same (ISO 6022, 250 bar, bronze guidance) — it differs only in the options to suit the duty. For ordinary heavy manipulators the standard is enough; for shocks and forgings add the heavy-duty PQ piston, and for steelworks and forges add the metal RM wiper and a corrosion-resistant rod (RRX / RRK).
